a man of importance…

he had these grand illusions…ideas of importance…talked ’bout being some kind of astronaut…or a submarine captain out in the ocean working in the belly of the beast…with sharks and other dangerous sea creatures trying to kill him while he made adjustments to save mankind….

just sat there for hours on-end pontificating over iced Pepsi…proclaiming to have been atop oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico while wild winds nearly took his life…he talked ’bout that sort of thing…having lunch with men on make-shift boats…sacrifices made…lives in the balance…a savior of mankind…

all this talk…from a man who lost job after job after job…blaming politics everytime…,”this guy was out to screw me…that guy never liked the way I was leading the company…,”proclaimed to be a CEO and president of various boards…captain of the ship…a real Ahab…

all this talk…endless talk…all day long telling one story after another with a television blaring in the background…never-ending tales ’bout the dangers of being on top…everyone out to get you…life being a trick bag and you had to fight like hell to get out of it what he got…to get out of it what he got…

and there he sat in this nursing home…bag of bones…living off social security…medicaid…nothing to his name…a true american…a man of importance…

who was i to tell him any different…

The writing is based on my surroundings and what I've been surrounded by. This language is coarse and politically incorrect; which I make no apologies for. These characters are not nice and to use any other dialogue would be disingenuine. That being said, I choose to roll the dice. dm seay
